STEP 02 DATA ROAD MAP

A data road map is created to show step by step what actions have to be taken to identify the areas that are in need of trees. Datasets of the six indicators from the previous step are included and can be ranked according to their importance. This way maps can give valuable insights into cities and areas that would benefit most from trees.

Data can be collected from varying types of sources. Not all of them provide the data on the same scale or in the same manner. Before processing the geodata, the scale should be defined in which the data will then be measured and analysed. This can be for example be on the neighbourhood or district level.

The steps needed for processing the data and getting valuable output are shown in the Data Action Model (DAM) below. It shows the input, processing (each step taken for each dataset) and the output. The final output of the DAM is a table and map that show what neighbourhoods or areas are most in need of trees.
