We tried to add a method to the Meer Bomen Nu campaign that can successfully help with finding new planting sites to contribute to climate adaptation in cities. Our long-term goal is that different municipalities, not limited to the Netherlands, are facilitating the replanting of trees or saplings. Therefore, our new addition to the Meer Bomen Nu campaign, which we call the Waar Bomen Nu method, is created as a replicable model and is structured as a roadmap with four consecutive steps.

Step 1 - An indicator list that shows why trees are beneficial and can, location-specific, be prioritised.

Step 2 - A data road map, showing how to identify areas that are most in need of trees. 

Step 3 - A tree species list including the trees used in the Meer Bomen Nu method, prioritised to the indicators.

Step 4 - Various suggestions are made to help actually implement the planting of the desired tree species identified.
