Knowledge platform.

This platform is for everyone involved and interested in the process of temporarily housing the economically homeless in Amsterdam. Here we explain the different steps in the process and the parties involved, tasks and responsibilities. In addition, links are provided to websites with relevant information for that step. 

The purpose of the platform is to provide insight into the process of transformation for temporary housing, to provide knowledge and clarity so that it becomes attractive for owners of vacant buildings to make a social contribution.

During this stage of the process, the initiator starts the project. The search for a suitable building takes place and various parties are involved to gain knowledge, influence and financing.  

Checklist phase 1:

During this phase of the process, the political, social, technical, legal and financial feasibility are examined. The target group is determined and an architectural design is made. This phase also includes applying for permits.

During this phase, the plans made are implemented. A tender takes place and the budget, quality and progress of the process are continuously monitored.

During this phase of the process, the building is put into use. The residents are placed and assisted by a social organization. During this phase, the building is managed and maintained and the order and safety of the public space around the building is monitored.

In this phase, the decision is made to extend the temporary housing term, place a different target group, demolish the building and redevelop the area or change the building back to its original state.
