The Reflection
In the reflection activity, you will reflect on the past process of the facade project with the other people involved. You will discuss what went well and what could have been done better. You will gather these ideas and feelings and generate parameters and lessons learned that will form the foundation for your future activities.

The elements of the reflection activity are:
-
The cases to discuss.
-
A series of questions that trigger memories and opinions about the process.
-
A template with the cases and the questions for you to work on beforehand.
-
Sticky notes for the inputs for you to write on.
-
Larger sticky notes for you to determine the categories.

01

Select Cases to discuss
First, you select a case to evoke your recollection of the process. For example, in the sessions we proposed two cases for the Reigersbos project: 1) the development and communication of the Demo House and 2) the first presentation about the subsidies made by the Municipality. However, you are free to decide which case or instances are crucial for you to talk about. Remember to pick a case that all participants know of.
02
Preparation before hand
A series of reflective questions will guide the discussion:
-
What went well?
-
What could have been done better?
-
What are your ideas for next time?
-
What are our next steps?
-
Is there something else you want to discuss?
To make the reflection session beneficial and practical, we have developed a template for you to think about these questions and fill in your answers before the meeting.

03
Share your thoughts with the group
Make sure that all the participants of the meeting are able to share their opinions and ideas. Some people are naturally more inclined to speak up in meetings, so assure that everyone can express their thoughts.
04
Group the Opinions
Search for common topics between the opinions and ideas. Now you will have to collect, group, and classify the similar ideas and thoughts gathered in the exercise.

05

Create some categories to work on later
Think on concepts that represent the different groups of ideas. These concepts will be used later to guide the various decisions that need to be taken in the project by illustrating the lessons learned and things to take into account. These parameters and lessons learned will become the basis for you to structure and evaluate the new steps and activities.
