About us
The Housing Platform was born from a place of a deep need for student housing for the MSc MADE students’ community. MSc MADE is a non-traditional masters program developed by Wageningen University & Research and TU Delft, taught at AMS Institute, located on the Marineterrein in Amsterdam. Due to its non-traditional format, the students of the MSc MADE program struggle with securing student housing in Amsterdam, within a highly competitive university landscape already present in the city.
We have identified, and included in the platform, more non-traditional educational institutions within the Marineterrein, such as CODAM, the software engineering school founded by TomTom co-founder Corinne Vigreux, and Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (AHK), Amsterdam University of the Arts.
The Housing Platform resulted from the joint effort of the Living Lab project “MADE Student Housing”. The team behind this project sought to find solutions to the housing problem faced by MSc MADE Students. Being located within such an innovative area as Marineterrein, it was quite natural for us to refer to this community for solutions. Having tight partnerships and establishing an innovative, supportive, and open-minded community in the Marineterrein is already part of the vision for the area, therefore our project fits well with its current strategic trajectory.
