The Product
The P+R system is a transition tool towards a low car city. A future with fewer cars will require innovative solutions in public transport systems and societal change. Therefore, P+R can be a temporary solution, allowing people in remote areas to still reach their workplaces and facilities in a comfortable way while avoiding traffic and alleviating the public space scarcity in cities.
Product: the proposed solutions
Lack of uniformity in P+R
Standardize P+R's to improve user experience, while also increasing stakeholder collaboration.
Nudge users (financially) to use origin P+R to limit car movement towards the city.
Lack of regional strategy
Implement a corridor strategy between urban areas to distribute the costs and benefits of a regional P+R network.
Fragmented user information provision
Information platform that enlarges accessibility of P+R.
The before-mentioned proposals have two different target audiences. On the one hand, decision-makers and P+R managers need to make adjustments to the way the system works. On the other hand, users need a unified platform that offers easy access and navigation to P+R
