The invention
E-scooter parking is seen as a crucial aspect of e-scooter usage. After every ride, an e-scooter has to be parked somewhere in the public space. To reduce cluttering by e-scooters but still provide an user-friendly parking policy, this living-lab analyzed the potential of bicycle racks as e-scooter hubs.

Due to bicycle racks being available in almost every city in the Netherlands, this method of e-scooter hub placing could potentially be extended far beyond the borders of Amsterdam.
The vast majority of the Dutch knows how to use bicycle racks and intuitively knows where to find bicycle racks.

The next steps in this living lab is to assess if this idea is viable in Amsterdam. What bicycel racks are there in Amsterdam? How are they distributed over the city and how do users themselves park an e-scooter in a bicycle rack?
