To identify the need and interest for the workshop, we conducted an online survey to find out people’s opinions and reasons as to why this would be a nice workshop for them. We had a total of 44 respondents with almost everyone having some amount of previous experience attending ARTIS workshops. Almost 80% responded that they had no idea paper could be made from elephant dung and the same amount of people expressed an interest in papermaking and experimentation. 54% respondents were interested in a workshop longer than one hour and 70% expressed an interest in having a greater knowledge exchange during the workshop. The main reasons respondents cited to their interest were learning more about papermaking, widening creative expression, sustainability and how to incorporate its uses in daily life.
