Two entrances, one on the water and the second on the side. These dual access points ensure safety by offering an alternative exit if one entrance is blocked.

feeling of home

environment

Placed in a student area, the dome is made of natural elements. It is situated in an existing green space and is nestled between two grass dunes with a view of the water.

social dynamics

The internal design suggests sociality and community. A picnic bench has been placed to enhance group activities inside the dome. Moreover, the Marineterrain has a steady, moderate flow of people.

digitalization

The slow dome is a phone-free zone, indicated by the information sign, to nudge people into rethinking their phone use and reconnecting with people and the surroundings.

sensory experience

The view of the water (sight), together with its sounds (hearing), enhances the experience. The climbing plants create a smellscape (scent), climbing over the smooth dome (touch). While sitting on the bench, it is possible to enjoy a tasty meal (taste).

activity stimuli

The design invites curiosity and interaction, encouraging people to explore and use the space according to their needs in an unprogrammed way. A letter box holds a book to write thoughts and ideas.
